Security

The governors have invested a considerable amount of money on fencing, cameras and entrance control to enable us to have a safe and secure school. It is important that the only access during the school day is through the front entrance. If you use the emergency exit on the Maths corridor as a shortcut to take things to the bins or your cars please ensure it is locked when you exit and on your return. It must never be left open.
It is essential that fire doors are kept locked unless under the direct supervision of a member of staff. Fobs are issued to all staff. Anyone who needs one should see Arron Probyn. The Access Control system in Reception requires Staff to use their fob to gain entry/exit from Reception. If a member of staff loses their fob then they need to see Arron immediately who will then be able to cancel it on the system to prevent it being used by anyone else. Due to the expense of the system, there will be a charge of £5 for a replacement fob.
Please do not send any student to reception without a note. Also when passing through Reception please be vigilant about unwittingly allowing adults access to the rest of the school and students getting into reception and then using it as a short-cut.
The front door of the school is open from 7.00 am. If you arrive any earlier then please ring the bell. When the bell rings at 5.45 pm we need to be on our way out of the building. The alarm is set at 6.00 pm and costs almost £200 to reset! Before leaving your classroom please check that all windows are shut and all lights are turned off. This will be a great help to Rob and Tom. For Staff Swimmers, the doors into the changing rooms and into the pool need to be locked when staff have finished. The pool is not available until 6.30 am to give the cleaners time to clean the changing rooms. In line with Health and Safety procedures staff are not to use the swimming pool unaccompanied.
If you carry a drink to you classroom please ensure it does not spill. All too frequently recently this poses a health and safety hazard due to people slipping. Finally please keep your keys and other valuables safe.
