Students who have an appointment requiring them to leave school during a morning or afternoon session must have written permission from their parents. If permission is granted, pupils must be collected by their parents. Where a pupil complains of feeling ill and wanting to go home, parents are contacted by telephone and if parents decide that their child needs to come home, they are then required to come to school to collect their son/daughter. This must also be authorised by one of the pastoral team, usually the HoY or a member of the SLT, DSP, Medical Needs teams. All students must fill in the signing-out book before leaving school and the Receptionist completes a signing-out register which is e-mailed to core pastoral staff at the end of each school day.
