Students should not bring items such as jewellery, audio equipment and accessories, large sums of money etc. to school. Money can be handed to the Office for safe keeping. Unfortunately, not all members of the school community achieve the standards of honesty to which the school aspires. Be security minded. Do not leave personal or school property where it could be easily stolen or vandalised. Make sure that ‘attractive’ items of equipment are securely locked away at the end of the day/school term as break-ins can occur at night, weekends and during the holidays As a rule a teacher should not agree to look after valuables for a student. Teachers are responsible for items which they confiscate. If a student needs someone to look after their valuables, they should be directed to the main office where they can be locked in the school safe.

During PE lessons a student should leave their valuables with their PE teacher. The PE teacher should adhere to the Valuables Policy when looking after the personal possessions of their students.
