Uniform update – July 2018

We would like to remind parents/carers about our expectations regarding school uniform and general standard of dress. Pupils are not permitted to wear jewellery of any kind (including whilst travelling to and from school). Pupils must wear appropriate school shoes (not trainers or canvass shoes). A number of shops stock clothing marketed as ‘school wear’ which does not meet our expectations. This particularly refers to skirts and trousers. School skirts must not be made of ‘stretch’ fabric and should reach to the knee (without constant adjustment). School trousers must not be made of ‘stretch’ fabric and should not be skin-tight. We do not allow pupils to wear denim/chino fabric.

We would also take this opportunity to remind parents/carers that pupils must not display excessive piercings, tattoos or
extreme haircuts. Pupils doing so may not be allowed to attend lessons. Pupils are only permitted to wear ‘subtle’ makeup
and should not wear false nails or eyelashes. Pupils with longer hair may wear only a plain black headband, bandana or
headscarf. Pupils are not permitted to wear brightly coloured/patterned headbands, large bows or headscarves.
